Technical Assistance for City of New York

In line with New York City’s interim target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from municipal buildings 35% by 2025 (35x25), the City’s Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) was selected for Technical Assistance through the City’s C40 membership.

DCAS engaged our team for assistance to develop a Carbon Action Plan to meet this target. We produced an interactive tool to effectively monitor actions taken by each of the different city agencies to ensure consistent and quality strategic planning outputs.

Our tool empowered DCAS to outline a pathway for each agency to contribute to meeting the 35x25 target, allowing these agencies to chart a course of specific energy conservation measures that will enable the agency to achieve its emission reduction mandate. We also provided guidance so that agencies can summarize and deploy the financial and human resources necessary to achieve stated municipal GHG goals.

The C40 Technical Assistance program was set up to enable projects with a high potential for tangible greenhouse gas emission reductions that can be replicated across other C40 member cities.
